2012

No work at all on the actual build during 2012, so has been (literally!) gathering dust / spiders / mice and other assorted small organisms.
However, had a few opportunities at home to investigate the state of the T9 gearbox inherited with the kit. Initial indications not good as no rotation of input or output shafts possible, so stripdown started. After much cursing and some custom variations on the standard stripdown procedure the box is now in bits. The reason for the 'seizure' turned out to be a broken synchro ring, plus 3rd cog looks pretty beaten up.
Subject to further close inspection of the components, I am considering refurbishing the 'box myself with upgraded components, rather than shelling out for a refurbished heavy duty 'box..................watch this space!!
